Hip Hop Has Heart and Benefits

Bethany House of Nassau County

Hempstead, N.Y. February 19, 2009-

"Hip-Hop Fusion" is an electrifying dance show produced and directed by professional choreographer  Lancelot E. Theobald Jr., featuring thirty dancers spanning four generations including  Momz-N-Da Hood TM (America's first hip hop dance group of mothers in their forties and fifties), the NYC All Stars break dance crew, rap group Down Bottom Entertainment and comedian Marc Theobald.  In 2008, Hip-Hop Fusion successfully supported four Long Island, N.Y. charitable organizations.

The goal of "Hip-Hop Fusion II" is to uplift spirits and inspire the audience to transcend whatever barriers they may face. Children from these worthy organizations are members of our audience and we demonstrate that in music and dance (as in life) all things are possible.  HHFII is an energizing and eclectic production featuring multiple dance forms choreographed to a hip- hop and contemporary music score. HHFII is the evidence that hip-hop has heart and can be a positive force in the community.

Two performances will take place on Saturday, April 4th, 2009. One at 6:30pm (benefit performance) and 8:30pm at the Jeanne Rimsky Theatre 232 Main Street in Port Washington, N.Y. We are pleased to support Bethany House of Nassau County New York. Bethany House of Nassau County is dedicated to improving the lives of homeless women and children on Long Island. At any given time, Bethany House homey locations provide safe, supportive emergency housing for up to eighty-five women and children. Residents not only receive the basic essentials, but a comprehensive range of additional programs and resources. The caring and knowledgeable staff equips the women with the tools and skills they need to provide for themselves and their families. Choreographer Lancelot Theobald, Jr said "It's meaningful to me and my dance company to be a part of something larger than just a show. That we may be able to inspire a child or change a life is an awesome prospect."

Hip-Hop Fusion II is a 75 minute multi-media show with hip-hop dance, krumping, break dancing, tap,  modern dance, ballet, comedy and a performance by a Rap group. The show also includes audience participation. Hip-Hop Fusion II is produced by Lancelot E. Theobald Jr. and Dany Holdstein Productions. For further information contact Lancelot E.
